Yusha is interested in physical oncology and the evolution of cancer in the tumor microenvironment. He focuses on developing microfabricated cancer-on-chip systems that generate controlled heterogeneous stress landscapes. He is currently studying the evolutionary role of polyploidal giant cancer cells (PGCCs) in the emergence of drug resistance, and he is also exploring the population dynamics of cancer-stroma systems through the lens of evolutionary game theory (EGT), combining experimental and theoretical approaches.
